AN INTERVIEW WITH JAMIE MCCAVANAUGH OF WEDDING PARTY Hi David, I meant to communicate a while ago with you but I have a new little boy that has taken quite a lot of attention. He is the most beautiful little boy! Will (singer of Wedding Party) and I have formed a new band called I-Dragon-I. We have put our souls into this band. We were the brainchild of WP, so if you liked WP you will enjoy I-Dragon-I. I am contacting you for prayer as we go back out there. This time around we are diving deep. We will mainly be touring Europe and other countries that God puts on our hearts. We mainly feel a very heavy burden to be in Europe. We already have a large rumor about us possibly coming back out. So the Lord has started His work. We are drawing an even more spiritually intense people this time. We need so much prayer. We are not coming out as a Christian band this time for several reasons. One is that God asked us. That seemed important. But within the Christian goth community we are asking for prayer and support. We have a MySpace that has exploded. Our website is being built right now. We are going to play Cornerstone this year at the Sanctuary tent and I think the Asylum tent. We will be releasing a special edition CDs that are numbered. So this will be fun. Sheri, the female singer of WP, visited me from Sweden two weeks ago and we layed some tracks. She has started another band called Lucifer’s Key. She will be there with us. I think we will have some surprises at the show. I like good rumors... I heard that Ken from Bridge Shadows is coming... get my drift? Well thank you so much for listening and thank you for being there. Isn't this goth community beautiful? We want to reach the most extreme people in the world. So please pray. Our other website should be operational by Cornerstone and the release of the limited edition CD. The comfort for people understanding where we are at in regards to WP are simple. There are a lot of people that want WP back. This still is WP without Sheri. The writers of WP are Will and I. A few years have gone by and we have learned some frustrating wisdom that turned into I-Dragon-I. In 2001 we announced we were coming back and all hell broke free. Our lives turned upside down. We had to separate and soul search. During that time Will received a fatal gun shot to his chest. The doctors could not explain why he was alive. I talk to the doctor extensively about the state he was in. They called it a "miracle shot." They said it was impossible for that bullet to travel through him missing the major arteries of his heart and survive. They said the only way that they could say it was possible that the bullet missed the arteries is that, get this. The bullet hit 2 ribs, the ribs moved the major arteries so the bullet can get by; blow his lung, and lodge into the back of his rib cage. Or the arteries moved themselves. He had several surgeries to make sure everything was okay. It looked for a while that he may lose that lung. But with God in the picture, he healed very quickly. He sings stronger than he did before. And me, well I won't get into. You get the point. Many things have happened and we are ready to talk about it. If people loved WP, they are going to love I-Dragon-I. I promise. I think people should know what has been happening over the last 8 years. There is a lot of overcoming in this album. The way that Will sings is very powerful. He has pipes that go straight thru you. After the shooting we were wondering what his voice was going to do after the damage. It is more powerful! Before the shooting he peeked out mikes and even broke them on several occasions. This time it seems even louder! So much so it was very hard tracking him for this album. So I just let it peek. I figured God needs to be glorified in this miracle. His voice is so powerful that you can't control it. Now that is power. All the tracks you will hear are done with him standing 4 to 5 feet away from the mic. So this album is raw because of it. But I prayed and thought a lot about it. It is supposed to stay like that. So Glory be to God!! This album is so painful to play. There are so many tears shed making it, only God could count. Everything you can think of went into this, the heaviest attacks, physical pain, remorse, depression, love and hope. All things are possible.
