UP TO PAR

itting here thinking about the hours gone by
Deep down they’re welling, these feelings inside.

Socially dysfunctional, an outcast, a freak
Acceptance, belonging, is something we all seek.

But I can’t seem to shake my faults and little quirks
People have fun laughing, whispering, I’m noticing smirks.

Why can’t we all accept each other for who we are
Instead of being controlling when people aren’t “up to par.”

Why jump to conclusions, create lies to move yourself ahead
Some people are comfortable walking on you even when you’re dead.

They hurt and they persecute, they push you away
Oh wait! Then it’s your problem you’re weird in some ways?

Selfishness seems the root of all evil
Destroying our lives, ruining so many people.

So before a conclusion is jumped to and drawn
Don’t assume you’re always right because half the time you’re wrong.

So me sitting here thinking might do some of you some good.
I hope my message is crystal clear, I hope it’s understood.
